OK, ok...you're right, Santa's been pretty famous for a few years now. But it looks like y friend Jeff Ross' video from the most recent Naperville Bed Races at the Last Fling in September, where I was ingloriously knocked on my...um, tailbone, by a rolling lemonade stand - to the shock and horror of several young children in attendance - went national on NBC's Today show.
I was taking pictures at the finish line and when I lowered my camera, the lemonade stand was about 8 feet away and coming straight at me...fast. Not having the cat like reflexes that would've been required to dodge the thing, my first impulse was to cradle my camera to protect it and just take the hit. While my camera and 70-200mm f/2.8L lens came out alright, the impact snapped my 580 EXII off its base. Though initially the only thing that seemed to be injured was my pride, sitting down was a dicey operation for the next couple of months.
